Hunger Action Month
Our partnership with Doernbecher Children’s Hospital is designed to support these families. With the assistance of 10 Oregon Food Bank partner food pantries, we will be able to provide nutrition rich food to every child coming out of Doernbecher Hospital who lives in the tri-counties for the next year.
LET’S CURE CHILDHOOD HUNGER TOGETHER
This summer, our Community Table program has been conducting cooking classes for children. These classes are design to teach kids about good nutrition, and both children and their parents are given an opportunity to learn simple recipes the child can make from food that our pantry provides.
RESPONDING TO THE PRESENT NEED
As we move deeper into the summer months, I thought I would take this opportunity to highlight the wonderful work our partnership with Providence Medical Group is accomplishing.

Riposte Alimentaire
“Riposte Alimentaire” in French means “Food Response.” This past Sunday, January 28, protestors hurled soup at the “Mona Lisa” painting inside the Louvre Museum in Paris.
As the Year Closes
Thanks again for a great 2023 through your giving so many families are filled with hope for 2024. It was one of the best gifts you gave many families this year.
Approaching the Season
By now most of us have felt the cool breeze faithfully signaling the changing season. Out come the sweaters, the gloves and scarfs. Most of us push back turning on the heater as long as possible to avoid the high cost it brings with it. Our pantry patrons faithfully come no matter the season.
Three Ways to Serve
Lindsey, Jason and their two pre-school kids moved to Portland from California nine months ago. On Thursday morning, Lindsey called the pantry.
Sudden Provision
This past Thursday night was the first of three Oregon Food Bank (OFB) workshops that we are hosting at the pantry.
LIVING LIFE IN COMMUNITY
As of the writing of this newsletter we are booking deliveries into the month of June. Many individuals live alone, the contact and socialization they are able experience from this program for many is a highlight of their week. We help to connect them to their community.
